The Respiratory Care Department at MaineGeneral Medical Center provides a comprehensive program of respiratory care service to inpatients and outpatients with known or suspected pulmonary (lung) disease or dysfunction.
Our pulmonologists and respiratory care staff are skilled and experienced in the treatment, management, control and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with breathing.
These functions are accomplished by therapeutic administration of oxygen, rehabilitation techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and maintenance of natural and artificial airways.
Programs & Services
- Asthma Education Program is a resource for healthcare providers who care for patients with asthma. The Program also strives to help asthma patients gain better control of their asthma.
- Sleep Laboratory at MaineGeneral is a specialty outpatient facility for the evaluation and treatment of patients with problems related to sleep and wakefulness such as insomnia, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
