Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

MaineGeneral RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) engages people age 55 and older in meaningful volunteer services that meet critical community needs and enrich the lives of volunteers.

Our service area is Kennebec, Somerset and Franklin Counties.
RSVP shows individuals how they can apply the skills and wisdom they've acquired throughout their lives to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

It is the largest volunteer network in the U.S. for those 55 and older.

RSVP is a part of Senior Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering.

RSVP Means Results

Your time is valuable and we maximize every minute. Our highly structured program focuses on making a tangible difference. National performance measures guide our efforts and ensure our volunteers' work contributes to real, lasting change in the community. We prepare our volunteers for success with pre-service orientation and training from the organization at which they will serve.

Benefits of RSVP

  • We ensure assignments are consistent with the interests/abilities of volunteers and the needs of the community or organization served.

  • We make sure volunteers receive needed orientation, training, individual support and supervision and recognition for their volunteer service.

  • We provide benefits that include supplemental accident/liability insurance and more.

Not sure what you'd like to do? Let our volunteer coordinator discuss with you the many available opportunities in your area.
