- In the field of athletic training, the ability to have accurate, reproducible and efficient evaluation skills is the foundation for our patient care. Understanding possible differential diagnosis and determining injury severity is imperative for our patients’ safety and the trust they place in us to take care of them. The medical field is constantly adapting and changing based on recent research, and athletic trainers need to remain up to date in the knowledge of the newest techniques of joint assessments. Doing so helps maintain the accuracy of injury diagnosis which leads to the most appropriate and effective care.
-By participating in this program, the participant will have the ability to make more consistently accurate injury assessments utilizing differential diagnosis skills. This increase in accuracy will lead to improved efficiency in treating the injury and decreased game time lost due to the injury because an accurate diagnosis leads directly to the most appropriate care.
