The practitioner completely ignored the reason that I was referred to her, which is severe depression. Instead she focused on my much smaller issue with constipation, spending 2 hours taking my history and recommending that I drop eating dairy and switch to vegan alternatives. Not once was my severe depression addressed. I waited many months for this appointment, hoping that I would get some help.

Persis has been, and continues to be a rock in MGH. I have had many doctors come and go and seen many others for various reasons, and no matter what the circumstances, she has always been there. Her wisdom is proven, her attention to detail, her communication are consistent. You never leave feeling unseen or unheard. I have known and recommended many others who have also been as delighted as myself under her care!

I deeply appreciate having Persis on my care team. Not only does she have genuine empathy-- but also courage with sensibility that helps guide me effectively to wellness. It was a wonderful experience to have such care and attention given in a 90-minute time period. To take your time in explaining important information to a care provider who listens and works with you to figure out what is happening and how to start to work on it is a rare situation in our medical world today. Persis Hope is great!

Persis is amazing! She is warm, personable, open, caring and thorough. I felt totally comfortable talking with her about anything. It's truly a pleasure to visit with a provider who is as knowledgeable and caring as Persis. I am grateful to have access to care, that-- as opposed to just treating symptoms-- is approached wholistically. I wish MaineCare was more reasonable in their reimbursement to such quality providers that really do have a positive impact on the health of our communities.
