MaineGeneral Medical Center receives an “A” for Patient Safety on Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
MaineGeneral Medical Center earned the top grade of “A” on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade released today.
“All MaineGeneral employees strive to give patients the best quality and experience,” said Chuck Hays, President & CEO of MaineGeneral Health. “The A grade from The Leapfrog Group recognizes these efforts, and is a great achievement by our entire staff.”
“As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic, I thank the workforce and leadership of MaineGeneral Medical Center for sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients from harm. This community should be proud.”
MaineGeneral also is included on the Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals awards list 2022, including a special designation for infection prevention. Newsweek published the designation in the March magazine edition. The detailed methodology for the distinction is based on patient experience, hospital recommendation from peers, patient experience and data on patient safety, hygiene measures and quality of treatment.
Additionally, MaineGeneral earned two 2022 Women’s Choice Awards®: Best Hospitals for Orthopaedics and Best Mammogram Imaging Centers. The evidence-based designation identifies hospitals that meet high standards regarding a woman’s preference for care.
“We know when you need quality health care, you want to receive it right here in the Kennebec Valley,” Hays said. “We will continue striving to provide the highest level of care, safety and experience.”
