MaineGeneral Workplace Health's Spirometry Certification Course is National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)-approved for meeting or exceeding specific criteria.
Course Success
Workplace Health's onsite, in-person classes yield a near-perfect success rate. To date, more than 95 percent have passed the NIOSH Spirometry Technician exam on the first attempt, with a 100 percent passage rate by the second attempt.
Personalized tutoring and guided self-review are offered if a second attempt on an exam is needed.
Spirometry Certification Course
MaineGeneral Workplace Health's Spirometry Certification Course is National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)-approved, meeting or exceeding the following criteria:
- At least 16 hours of instruction with the following components:
- At least 4 hours of formal lectures and/or audio visual material
- At least 8 hours of practical instruction
- At least 2 hours of evaluation and testing
- At least 2 additional hours of lecture, practical instruction, or testing
Lunch and materials are included and full payment of $850 per attendee is required before the scheduled start date of the course.

Course Requirements
Participants should bring their organization's spirometer, mouthpieces, filters, instructional manual, laptop, etc., if possible, to ensure they receive optimal training.
It would be helpful if students could indicate in advance which make and model they plan to bring and use so the instructors can be prepared to help during the practical portions of the course.
Participants will be asked to sign a privacy statement either before or at the start of the course
