Tracey Thornton, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who treats patients at Elmwood Primary Care, which she joined in September 2023. In this role, she addresses mental health illnesses, manages medications, refers patients to other specialties as needed and helps connect them with appropriate resources. She believes in incorporating holistic options in her approach to care for complete whole mind and body healing. Ms. Thornton began her clinical career as a registered nurse in 2009 and most recently worked from 2020 to 2023 as an RN/charge nurse on the inpatient psychiatric unit at MaineGeneral Medical Center's Alfond Center for Health while completing her graduate degree program. Biography
Ms. Thornton has worked for MaineGeneral Health since 2007. She began her career as a nursing unit assistant, practiced as a registered nurse in a wide variety of roles after earning her nursing degree and then continued her education to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
