The doctor who was going to do my surgery was extremely nice both visits. She could tell I was nervous and told me if I was more comfortable rescheduling another appointment so I could be put to sleep instead of be awake we could do that and that she will call in about a week or two to schedule the appointment. Very good at explaining the process and steps involved.

First, this started from a hernia surgery repair seminar which is what started me on this successful journey. The only hiccup was getting me scheduled in a timely manner. I initially felt through the seminar conversation, it could have been done right away. Due to the surgical availability and my schedule, it took much longer. This was a post surgical appointment, not one I called to set up. However, the prior appointments I had, the scheduling staff were very accommodating as dates would not work for me. They worked with me very kindly to find a time that would. The surgical team were very professional and kind. Dr. Jelinek was very professional, to the point, yet warm and caring. I would recommend the team and her to anyone in need of hernia repair.

So everyone I dealt with for the three or four days that I was up there, excellent service. I had no complaints. Everybody treated me like I was family. I mean, I don't like going to the hospital, but I did enjoy my visit. No complaints whatsoever. Thank you for taking care of me.

Dr. Jelinek is awesome, great surgeon. During my follow up visit she answered all my questions and did not make me feel rushed. Have nothing but good to say and would recommend her to everyone!!

From the moment I walked to the entrance, I was guided right to where I needed to go from checkout, check in. The receptionist put me at great ease. I was having major anxiety and she was great. And then when I met the nurse was wonderful and as well as the doctor, I felt completely at ease. We even laughed and joked considering how serious my upcoming surgery would be. She gave me multiple options and choices. She explained why my case was different than others. I felt totally cared for. I felt all my needs, all my questions were answered as well as could be. And I was put at ease and it was a wonderful experience for me.

The office was extremely accommodating and welcoming. From the PSR to the MA to Dr.Jelinek each person took the extra time to be kind patient as I had to bring my young kids with me. I wish I could remember the names of the female PSR and MA because they were exceptional! And Dr. Jelinek was fantastic as well, she even remembered my family and took time to ask how they were doing! Please send my thanks to them all!

After I left, I realized I had more questions and I'm not sure who or how to get my questions answered.

The staff was wonderful. They explained things etc. I was there for acute appendicitis and had to wait by the ambulance door for 7 hours. The er was full and so was day surgery. The space was hard for any privacy and luckily the ambulance crew left me with extra blankets. It is a newer hospital but space was needed for sure. There were others in the hall also. The staff was wonderful and I appreciated their care.

Dr Jelinek was fantastic and though I had complications after a straightforward surgery she was honest, transparent, and professional about the outcomes for my care.

The staff at Maine General, including everyone that took part in my care, was extremely efficient and knowledgeable and cognizant of my needs and took care of me very well. Dr. Jelinek has a very, very outgoing personality and being with her was an experience that we should all have. She was very good.
