Inpatient Treatment
MaineGeneral Medical Center's inpatient mental health program at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta offers hospital care for adults in crisis.
Our inpatient unit provides stabilization through brief hospitalization while developing plans for your continued treatment on an outpatient basis after you leave the hospital.
Patients are admitted to the hospital through direct referrals from the community crisis system, emergency departments or primary care providers.
Our treatment teams include psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, hospitalists, nurses, social workers, psychologists and occupational therapists.
