Maine Dartmouth Collaborative Care Center
If you're looking for care that promotes health by involving body, mind and spirit, we're here for you. You partner with our medical staff to meet short- and long-term health goals with care plans developed together.
We help people of all ages manage simple to complex health issues.
You'll find a focus on Functional Medicine - why you have a health issue. Treatments often involve dietary and lifestyle changes to help put you on a path to better health.
A family nurse practitioner on our staff is certified in Functional Medicine by the Institute of Functional Medicine and also has completed a fellowship in integrative medicine from the University of Arizona.
Approach to Care
You'll find board-certified osteopathic physicians specially trained in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), a hands-on treatment that addresses the whole body to improve health.
OMM focuses on how the body's structure and function work together. It also looks at how physical health can be influenced by or can influence a person's emotional or spiritual nature.
Learn More about OMM
Doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) consider the whole person when diagnosing and treating patients.
They have thorough medical training in all body systems and believe the body's natural self-healing mechanisms help restore well-being and maintain health.
Services
Osteopathic manipulation can be applied to every area of the body to treat a wide range of conditions, including:
- Acute and chronic pain
- Care for pregnant women during and after delivery for better health care and pregnancy support
- Concussion and traumatic brain injury
- Newborn evaluation and treatment for issues including basic birth trauma, feeding problems, head shape and other concerns
- Sports injuries
- Support for chronic disease conditions
Functional Medicine is appropriate for any individual with a chronic illness or anyone wishing to explore ways to improve their health.
We also offer shared medical appointments (SMA) on a variety of topics.
In addition to our osteopathic specialists, we have NMM Plus One Fellows.
