What We Offer
Our experienced, knowledgeable therapy team understands that each individual is unique. We work with you and customize your care to help you regain your independence and achieve your goals and the highest level of function and quality of life possible.
Your recovery doesn't start when you receive your prosthetic. We believe it starts immediately after the amputation and, when planned, even before it.
Your therapist will help you prepare for your fitting by helping you shape and desensitize your residual limb prior before you receive your prosthetic.
You also will work through exercises to help prepare your body for the upcoming challenges of learning to live and thrive with your prosthetic or residual limb.
For those recovering from lower extremity amputations, such as an above-knee or below-knee amputation, we will focus on helping you regain safe mobility and a return to walking.
For those with upper extremity amputations, our focus will be on regaining daily function with fine motor tasks.
At MaineGeneral, we have the experienced specialists and equipment to help you achieve your goals. We’re with you!
