Your Rehabilitation Team
You are the most important member of the care team at MaineGeneral’s Physical Rehabilitation Unit.
Supporting you in regaining independence are experienced rehab professionals with many years of combined experience at MaineGeneral, as well as other key support staff.
Your rehab team includes:
- A rehabilitation physician (physiatrist) who will visit with you regularly during your stay. Our program provides medical coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Physical, occupational and speech therapists who provide therapy daily as needed. We offer therapy seven days a week. You will have three or more hours of therapy on most days. You will receive a therapy schedule each morning.
- Rehabilitation nurses and nursing unit assistants who provide outstanding care 24 hours a day.
- A dietitian who works with you to meet your nutrition needs.
- Housekeeping staff who clean your room daily.
- Spiritual care staff who are available to support you as needed and requested.
- Care managers who work with you on discharge planning throughout your hospital stay.
