Physical Therapy
At MaineGeneral Medical Center's Department of Physical Therapy, we believe all people deserve the highest level of function, comfort and performance.
We know that each individual and injury is unique, so we take a personal approach to care to match you with the right treatment options for you.
Your treatment starts with a conversation to understand what you value in your health and want as an outcome of your treatment.
We then work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs and goals.
Conditions We Treat
Comprehensive Therapy Care
Our team provides a wide range of care for the varied needs of our patients. We provide many specialty programs to help patients manage symptoms and chronic conditions, helping them achieve a better quality of life, especially when they had resigned themselves to "living with it."
These programs include:
- Pelvic health and urinary control therapy for women, men and children;
- Lymphedema care;
- Concussion management and recovery;
- LVST BIG program for individuals managing Parkinson's disease;
- Cancer Recovery Program to help cancer patients and survivors overcome symptoms and side effects;
- And more!
Support for Athletes of All Ages
Physical therapy plays a key role in helping athletes recover from injuries and return to the playing field. The athletes we treat include middle and high school students, college athletes, adult recreational athletes and seniors.
We work collaboratively with MaineGeneral Sports Medicine's athletic trainers and physicians and MaineGeneral Orthopaedics' orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons as part of a comprehensive team approach to care that starts with an initial diagnosis after an injury, through medical treatment, surgery (if required) and physical therapy through recovery.
