After each stage, the margins are microscopically examined for remaining cancer cells and this process is repeated until all your cancer has been removed.

About Dr. Filitis
Dan Filitis, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is a residency-trained dermatologist with specialized fellowship training and expertise in Mohs surgery.
A member of MaineGeneral Medical Center's active staff since August 2018, he established his practice locally after completing a micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY.
Dr. Filitis was among the first in our nation to obtain Mohs surgery certification from the American Board of Dermatology.
