Remote Patient Monitoring
Some patients discharged from the hospital or receiving home care are now given a tablet-based Bluetooth® system with devices such as a scale, blood pressure machine and oxygen sensor so that their health can be monitored by MaineGeneral staff daily right from home. The system also gives medication reminders.

This service is available to patients with any chronic condition. These conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Chronic heart failure
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- COVID-19
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Pneumonia
The service helps identify health issues early and helps prevent Emergency Department visits and hospital readmissions.
