- Injuries of the teeth and mouth are common occurrences in athletics. While certain sports require the use of a mouth guard to protect against severe injuries, many sports do not.
We as athletic trainers and other healthcare professionals see these injuries but may not have an in depth knowledge about how to differentiate between the available appliances, mouth guards and assess oral injuries with confidence.
This program looks to compare available appliances, explain proper evaluation for oral injuries and interpret the data about mouth guard’s effect on preventing concussions.
