Family Medicine Institute (FMI)

At the Family Medicine Institute (FMI) in Augusta, you have access to medical staff trained to care for you and your family at all stages of life, from prenatal to geriatrics.

As a patient, you have a primary care provider who gets to know you as an individual.

We're also a residency training program for doctors who specialize in family medicine. Faculty physicians oversee our resident doctors who train for three years at our Augusta site and at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.

We are affiliated with Dartmouth Medical School, the University of New England School of Osteopathic Medicine and MaineGeneral Medical Center. Learn more about Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency here.
